Orlando woman killed after car crosses into her lane

A 41-year-old Orlando woman was killed after a vehicle crossed into her lane and struck her vehicle late last night.

The fatal accident took place just before midnight on Thursday, August 18, at the intersection of Balcome Road and Braxted Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling northbound in a 2008 Toyota Prius when a 2008 Honda Odyssey that was traveling southbound crossed into her lane.

The woman attempted to swerve to avoid the collision, but was unable to, resulting in the Honda hitting the left side of the Prius.

The woman was transported to Florida Hospital Kissimmee, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old Orlando man, and his passenger, a 40-year-old Orlando man, were both transported to the Osceola Regional Medical Center. The driver sustained serious injuries in the crash, according to FHP.

The cause of the crash is still currently under investigation.
