James Henry Piegols, 68, passed from this life to join his Lord and Savior, his father and little sister on July 29, 2023, at his home in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
James was born June 22, 1955, to Donald and Dorothy (Wright) Piegols in Midland, Michigan. Jim grew up on a large farm, learning hard work and responsibility. He was active in Gray 4-H Club. Jim excelled at “Siebert”, “Jefferson”, and Dow High School. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a teacher’s degree in Industrial Arts and he taught high school for a few years, but his love and talent was designing and creating custom cabinetry and furniture. Jim’s work can be seen at many Florida hospitals, churches, libraries, and government buildings. His specialty was “one of a kind” special projects that others wouldn’t attempt.
James leaves behind his mother, Dorothy; his twin brother John (Linda) Piegols; his brother Joseph Piegols; his sister Laura (Jerry) Ferrell; as well as six beloved nieces and nephews and aunts, uncles, and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his father Donald, his sister Nancy, his grandparents, Uncle Dale Wright, Uncle Lloyd and Aunt Treva Piegols.
Jim’s memory will be cherished by many for his talent, honesty, work ethic, kindness, compassion, and dry humor.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at the Lord of New Life Lutheran Church, 3021 E. Hubbard Rd., Midland. Family will greet guests starting at 10:00 a.m. at the church.
