Carole Potami, 85, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Carole was born on June 25, 1938 to Norman and Cora Minich in La Porte, Indiana. After graduating high school, Carole moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to study nursing and became an RN. While in Fort Wayne she met the love of her life, Richard Potami, (who preceded her in death on March 25, 1994). They were married in September 1960 and had 2 children, Lisa Joseph and David Potami.
After practicing nursing for several years, Carole received a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Administration from St. Leo’s College. She then worked in quality assurance and risk management in the healthcare industry. Carole retired in 2000 from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.
Carole is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, Norman and Cora Minich, her sisters, Joann Miller and Roberta Boehm, her brother, William Minich and her brother-in-law, Raymond Potami.
Carole is survived by her 2 children, Lisa Joseph (Bryan) and David Potami (Ketcham), 3 grandchildren, Olivia Bobbitt, (Brody Courtepatte), Jackson Joseph and Harrison Joseph. She is also survived by her brother Edward Minich and sister Janet Merritt as well as her second husband Colin Condron.
Carole loved traveling, the beach and spending time with family and friends.
Carole’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her three grandchildren. She doted on them, would do anything for them and created so many special memories with them. Carole will never be forgotten; Her memory will live on through the memories shared by family.
She always showed her family unconditional love and the importance of family. As she always said, “We are a small family but a very close one”. Carole was also a true and loyal friend. She was very fortunate to have several lifelong friends who loved and supported her.
Her belief and faith in God gave her strength during the difficult times. She is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, reunited with her husband Richard, and is at true peace, pain free, clear minded, and healthy again.
