Jane S. Wheat

Jane Wheat. 72 of Winter Garden, Florida passed peacefully on Tuesday, Oct 24, 2023 at Advent Health in Apopka, Florida with her family by her side.

Jane is survived by her husband of 50 years, Don Wheat; her parents James and Betty Salter of Pensacola, FL; her sister Gail Ewing; her children, James Wheat, Joy Baker, Nathan Wheat, and Ruth Lang; her 15 grandchildren.

Jane was born on May 2, 1951 in Pensacola, FL to James and Betty Salter. She graduated from University of West Florida in 1972 with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Don Wheat, the love of her life, in 1973. Over the next 6 years they welcomed 4 children of their own and always had an open door to help family and friends in need. They always gave generously and sacrificially to those in need.

Her children and grandchildren remember her as thoughtful, generous, and dedicated to prayer. They all knew that she covered them in prayer daily.

Over the course of her life she dedicated herself to educating and teaching her children and grandchildren, teaching them to love Jesus, to read, and to not be afraid to think out of the box. She always encouraged her children and grand-kids to not sweat the small stuff and live on adventure – indulging them in their hobbies (animals/pets, motorcycles, skateboarding, climbing dangerously high trees, dying hair bright colors, and painting their room with polka dots). She lived a life dependent on her Savior and strove to instill that in her children and grand-kids.
