Orlando police have arrested a suspect that they believe is responsible for fatally shooting a 34-year-old man inside a local apartment.
Trevon Anthony Lamons, 25, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the homicide of Dexter Eugene Owens, according to a statement from the Orlando Police Department.
The fatal shooting took place on October 12. On that day, OPD officers were called about a loud disturbance at the Dover Gardens Apartments located at 5307 Gardens Place.
According to police, a second call reported that an individual, later identified as Owens, had been shot inside of an apartment.
Upon arrival, officers located Owens inside the doorway to an apartment. Owens was suffering from several gunshot wounds and was unconscious when police found him. Owens died at the scene, according to police.
Lamons is being charged with second-degree murder with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and shooting into a dwelling.
