Orlando has been recognized as one of the premier destinations in the United States to celebrate Independence Day.
According to a recent report by WalletHub, the City Beautiful was ranked the third-best city in the nation for 4th of July celebrations. The personal finance company evaluated the 100 largest U.S. cities to determine which locations offer the best balance of cost and fun for this year’s Independence Day, which marks America’s monumental 250th birthday.
To create the rankings, WalletHub compared the cities across 18 key metrics, ranging from the average prices of beer and wine to the duration of local fireworks shows and the Fourth of July weather forecast. These metrics were divided into categories such as affordability, attractions and activities, safety and accessibility, and weather.
Orlando earned an overall score of 63.25 out of a possible 100 points. While it ranked third overall, the city claimed the top spot in the country in the Fourth of July celebrations category. Orlando also ranked 24th in attractions and activities, 40th in safety and accessibility, and 45th in affordability.
Specifically, WalletHub highlighted Orlando’s abundance of party supply stores per capita. The city’s residents also reportedly search on Google for terms related to 4th of July festivities more than people residing in other cities.
In addition, Florida laws allow a wide range of federally permitted consumer fireworks, which gives residents of the City Beautiful plenty of options for celebrating the holiday.
“The 4th of July is one of the most beloved holidays in America, allowing many of us to not only celebrate our independence but also get a day off of work and gather together with family and friends,” said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo. “The best cities for the holiday help you make the most of your day, with affordable food options, good weather, fun recreation choices and long, spectacular fireworks shows.”
Las Vegas, Nevada, took the crown as the number one city for 4th of July celebrations with an overall score of 74.80. Following closely in second place is New York City, New York, with a score of 66.20. Los Angeles, California, and Minneapolis, Minnesota, rounded out the top five, ranking fourth and fifth, respectively.
Several other Florida cities also made WalletHub’s list for 2026. Miami landed in the top 20, ranking 19th overall, while Jacksonville placed 50th. Other notable Florida inclusions were St. Petersburg (#61) and Tampa (#65).
