46, passed away November 2, 2023 in Oviedo, FL. She was born October 7, 1977 in Pasquotank County, NC. Kelly has been a teacher for Seminole County Public Schools for 21 years. She was “Teacher of the Year” for 2023 at Wicklow Elementary School. Kelly was a passionate teacher who sought to brighten the lives of all her students. One of her greatest fulfillments was to start the Cross Country running program for her school. Kelly graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2002.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Ben Thorpe; three stepsons, Levi, Cooper and Micah Thorpe; son, Grayson Thorpe; and brother, Paul Vann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and James Vann and brother Christopher Vann.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held Sunday, November 19, from 2 p.m. to p.m. at Black Hammock Ranch, 3051 Howard Avenue, Oviedo, FL, 32765. Meal and refreshments will be served. Dress Attire: Casual and Comfortable.
