A 34-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Colonial Drive.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection of State Road 50/E Colonial Drive and Exeter Street just after midnight on Sunday, January 21, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The pedestrian, who was from Crossville, Tennessee, was walking in a southerly direction when he entered the westbound lanes of Colonial Drive, outside of a marked crosswalk.
As a result, he entered the direct path of a 2017 Ford Escape that was traveling westbound on Colonial Drive.
The Escape struck the man head-on. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver, a 17-year-old female from Titusville, and her passengers were not injured in the crash.
