Potbelly sandwich shop opens first location in Central Florida

A sandwich shop founded in Chicago nearly 50 years ago has opened its first location in Central Florida.

Potbelly Sandwich Works has officially opened for business at 2714 E Colonial Drive, in Colonial Plaza.

Established in 1977 in Chicago as a neighborhood sandwich concept, Potbelly serves toasted sandwiches, salads, hand-dipped shakes, soups, macs, and chips, among other items.

Over the past half-century, the company has expanded to 400 company-owned shops and over 40 franchise-managed shops across the nation.

In 2022, the company announced that it had inked a multi-unit development deal to bring multiple shops to the Orlando area over the next several years.

The new location on Colonial Drive is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

For more information on the restaurant, or to place an order, visit Potbelly online.
