With deep sorrow, we inform you of the passing of a beloved and respected, Antonio María Morales González. Antonio departed from this world at the age of 86 on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in the city of Orlando, Florida, USA, surrounded by the love of his dear family.
Antonio was born on May 4, 1937, in Barrio Obrero, San Cristóbal, Edo. Táchira, Venezuela, the son of the late Don Marcos Morales and Doña Isabel González. He was the beloved husband of Aura Rosa Lizárraga Gómez, who accompanied him throughout his life. Known affectionately as “Toñito” by his relatives, he leaves an indelible legacy through his three children: Janett Isabel, María Alejandra and her husband Enrique, Marco Antonio and his wife Cristina. His loyal sister Yrma Seneni. He leaves an everlasting impact on the hearts of his cherished grandchildren: Alejandro Antonio, Daniela, Denisse, Enrique Antonio, Diego Alfonso, Alejandro José, Juan Ignacio, and Matías. “Moralito,” as he was fondly called by his colleagues, was a dignified and noble Mayor General Officer of the Venezuelan Air Force (FAV).
He graduated from the Air Force Academy (Escuela de Aviación Militar – EAM) on July 5, 1961, as part of the “Sargento César Augusto Pinzón” promotion. Antonio concluded an exemplary 30-year career, excelling as a great transport pilot with thousands of flight hours, as well as in administrative, logistical, operational, and command roles. Dear and appreciated by all who shared friendship with him during his military career and beyond, Antonio María Morales González leaves a void in the community that will be difficult to fill. His dedication, integrity, and leadership are gratefully remembered by those who had the honor of knowing him. The family appreciates the condolences and support during this difficult time.
A ceremony will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at the “Resurrection Catholic Church” in Winter Garden, Orlando, Florida, to celebrate Antonio’s life, where friends and family can remember and honor his memory.
Mayor General of Aviation Antonio María Morales González rest in peace, a true “Knight of the Air,” who has ascended to the pilot’s heaven in the kingdom of the skies. A man who left an indelible mark on the hearts of his entire family and those who knew him.
