Vehicle sought in hit-and-run that left bicyclist seriously injured

Sanford police are looking for a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a bicyclist seriously injured.

The accident took place on Wednesday, January 24, according to a statement issued by the Sanford Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of a hit-and-run crash in the area of 25th Street and Park Avenue at around 2 a.m.

Upon arrival, police located a bicyclist with serious injuries. That individual was transported to a local hospital.

The vehicle involved in the accident left the scene without rendering aid or providing information, according to police.

Witnesses say the vehicle involved in the accident was a pickup truck that was dark in color. The vehicle was seen driving westbound on 25th Street away from the scene.
