Suspect shot into car on I-4 during road rage incident

Florida Highway Patrol investigators are searching for a road rage suspect who allegedly fired a shot into a vehicle on I-4, injuring a driver and passenger after they had moved over to allow the suspect’s vehicle to pass.

The shooting took place on Wednesday, January 31, near mile marker 112 of Interstate 4 in Deltona.

According to a statement from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 61-year-old man from Tennessee was driving eastbound in a 2017 Mercedes Benz C-Class. The man was traveling on the inside lane of the highway, in front of the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect allegedly began flashing the vehicle’s high-beam headlights and the victim moved his vehicle from the inside lane to the center lane.

According to authorities, the suspect then fired one round at the victim’s vehicle. The bullet struck the driver and his passenger, a 19-year-old man from Tennessee.

Both the driver and passenger were transported to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle was described as a black SUV or pick-up truck.
