A 63-year-old Orlando man was killed after he was struck by a semi-truck while attempting to cross Orange Blossom Trail.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Consulate Drive on Friday, February 2, at around 6:35 p.m.

According to a statement from the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was walking in a westerly direction and entered the northbound lane of Orange Blossom Trail. The man was not in a marked crosswalk.

As a result, the man walked directly in front of a 2022 semi-truck that was being driven by a 55-year-old man from Atlanta.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was not injured in the crash.
