A 67-year-old man from Canada is facing the possibility of life in prison for allegedly receiving multiple explicit videos and photos from children over the internet and flying to meet up with one of the children in Orlando.
Paul Creighton was extradited from Canada to the United States on February 8. He is charged with enticement of a minor and production of child sexual abuse material.
According to an indictment, Creighton communicated with children over the internet from 2012 to 2017.
Over that period of time, Creighton allegedly induced children to send sexually explicit photos and videos of themselves.
In addition to the photos he received, Creighton allegedly sent pictures of himself to the children.
According to the indictment, Creighton purchased sex toys for some of the victims and even flew to Orlando to meet with one of the children.
Creighton was arrested by Canadian authorities at the request of the U.S. on November 12, 2020.
After he was extradited last week, he appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sean P. Flynn on February 9, 2024. At that time, he was ordered detained pending trial.
If convicted on all counts, Creighton faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years and up to life in federal prison.
