Robert Foster

Robert Foster went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 2, 2024, in Winter Park, Florida, at the age of 79.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Karyn, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, his two daughters, Krista Moorer (Matt) of Monroeville, Alabama, and Beth Arias (Jessie), of Davenport, Florida, along with his grandchildren, Anna Kate Moorer, Jackson Moorer and Hope Arias. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Hannah Foster of Akron, Ohio, his brother, Harold Foster, of Akron Ohio, and his granddaughter Sarah Foster, of Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Bob was born on January 24, 1945, in Akron, Ohio; he graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Psychology and Sociology. He went on to get his Masters of Divinity degree from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma and completed his post graduate work at Liberty University of Lynchburg, Virginia. During his years at the University of Akron, Bob served as the state of Ohio Youth Director for the Church of God. He then went on to do youth work at First United Methodist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and at First United Methodist Church in Enid, Oklahoma. After graduate school, he co-pastored at Will Rogers United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma and later was the Associate Pastor of Marriage and Family Life at First United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In 1980, Bob moved to Central Florida and opened Christian Counseling Associates, which was one of the first private Christian counseling centers in the Orlando area. This center served as a resource for local churches and offered counseling services to individuals, couples and families for over 40 years. Bob had a deep love for all people, and his greatest joy was helping others build strong, healthy and lasting relationships. Bob was a living demonstration of what it means to serve others and it was common for him to provide for the physical needs and not just the emotional needs of those that he worked with and also those that he encountered in his day to day activities. We will never know how many lives he touched, changed, and impacted for the glory of God.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Northland Church, at 522 Dog Track Road in Longwood, Florida. All are invited and welcomed to attend and celebrate Bob’s life.
