Firefighters were dispatched to a nonprofit organization in Seminole County on Tuesday afternoon after receiving reports of a structure fire.
Shortly after 1 p.m., Seminole County Fire Department and Oviedo Fire Department units responded to Boys Town Central Florida located at 975 Oklahoma Street in Oviedo. When firefighters arrived on scene, they observed heavy smoke and flames rising from a 500-square-foot work shed.
Two nearby buildings were evacuated while firefighters from both agencies combated the flames in the shed.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, preventing the fire from spreading into the main structure.
“Great job by everyone working together to control this fire,” stated the Oviedo Fire Department in a social media post.
There were no injuries reported. In addition, there was no damage to the nonprofit’s living areas, according to the Seminole County Fire Department.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the State Fire Marshal.
