A two-alarm fire destroyed an abandoned auto shop near Winter Park early Friday morning.
Multiple units from the Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department and Orange County Fire Rescue were dispatched to the 6400 block of University Boulevard, which is just outside the city limits of Winter Park, in reference to a commercial structure fire.
Upon arrival at the former auto shop, firefighters observed heavy smoke and flames.
The roof had also partially collapsed, and a vehicle inside the building was on fire.
Orange County and Winter Park firefighters worked together to combat the blaze, and the flames were eventually extinguished.
“These calls illustrate the importance of why we train with our neighbors throughout the year,” stated the Winter Park Fire-Rescue Department in a social media post on Friday morning.
There were no injuries reported.
The State Fire Marshal is currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
