A teenager was arrested in Orlando for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery that occurred last week at a local 7-Eleven.
On Monday, March 25, at around 5:35 a.m., Orlando Police Department officers responded to the 7-Eleven located at 5570 N Orange Blossom Trail in reference to a robbery incident.
During the armed robbery, a male suspect held an employee at gunpoint. The suspect then fired a round, which narrowly missed striking the employee, according to Orlando police.
OPD detectives launched an investigation and eventually identified a 16-year-old boy as the suspect in this case. In the morning hours on Thursday, April 4, the teen suspect was located and arrested near a bus stop in the 5200 block of N Orange Blossom Trail.
The police department stated that the teen was carrying a backpack at the time of his arrest. Inside the backpack, officers found a loaded firearm.
The teen suspect is being charged with armed robbery with a firearm while wearing a mask, aggravated assault with a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
