Dora Mae Rowland

Dora M. Rowland was promoted to glory on March 31, 2024. She was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 20, 1936. Her family moved to Tampa, Florida in 1949.

In 1958 the family moved to Orlando. Dora loved Jesus and served Him at the Orlando Salvation Army as a Preschool Sunday School teacher for many years and later on served as the head usher. Dora worked in the accounting department of Sun Bank for her entire working career until she retired in 1999.

Dora enjoyed gardening, loved roses in particular, and always had a well manicured lawn. Her attention to detail was obvious in all that she did. She was thoughtful, caring, dedicated and served others faithfully. Dora will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Dora was pre-deceased by her father: Edward Rowland, Mother: Gladys Rowland, Sister: Joy Rowland and Brother: Arnold Rowland.

Dora is survived by her: sister-in-law: Donna Rowland, Niece: Michelle Rowland Felton, her husband David Felton and three children: Kelsey Felton Sarmiento (husband Elijah), Allison and Nathan along with great nephew: Jude Sarmiento. Niece: Julie Rowland McKenna, her husband Christian McKenna and two children: Courtney and Christian Jr., along with a number of other family members.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carey Hand Colonial Home Chapel. Visitation to be held prior to the service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
