1 killed, 3 critically injured in shooting near Orlando apartment complex

A shooting incident near an apartment complex in Orlando left one person dead and three others injured on Thursday evening.

At around 8:30 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 2800 block of Gamma Drive, near Omega Apartments, in reference to shots being fired in the area, according to OCSO.

When deputies arrived on scene, they located four men, all in their 20s, who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a local hospital in critical condition, and one of the victims later died from their injuries.

The names of the victims were not released by law enforcement.  

“We have no suspect information to release at this time,” stated the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in a media release on Thursday night.

OCSO added that investigators believe that the shooting was a “targeted incident.” No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office as the investigation is “active and ongoing.”
