Shooting in Orlando leaves 1 dead

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in Orlando that claimed the life of a man on Monday evening.

Shortly after 8:45 p.m. on Monday, May 20, OCSO deputies responded to the area of 22nd Street and Rio Grande Avenue in Orlando in reference to shots being fired, according to the sheriff’s office.

When deputies arrived, they found a male victim in his 50s who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The victim’s name was not released.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation,” stated OCSO in a media release on Monday night.

No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office regarding the fatal shooting or any potential suspect(s).
