Mary Carter Pottinger of Orlando, FL, passed away surrounded by family, May 12, 2024, at the age of 75. Mary was born in Orlando & raised in Winter Park. She graduated from Winter Park High School & Rollins College, she later received her Masters Degree from University of Central Florida.

She married Danny Pottinger in 1974, her sweetheart of nearly 50 years. She taught first grade at Cheney Elementary for 7 years, then became a stay at home mom to her 3 daughters. Later in life, after raising her 3 girls, she decided to go back to teaching & taught English at William R. Boone High School. She retired in 2010, to spend time with her husband, girls & grandchildren. Her greatest treasure was her family. She also loved traveling throughout the world with her husband, girls & friends. Mary was a member of Junior League of Greater Orlando, Rosalind Club & Altar Guild at The Cathedral Church of St. Luke.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Danny Pottinger, her parents, John Edward Carter, Jr., & Joyce Stanbra Carter & her sister, Susan Carter Ricks. She is survived by her three daughters; Kathryn Pottinger Fallon, Virginia Pottinger Trabold (Fred), Kristin Pottinger Dill (Drew), and grandchildren; Emma Grace Trabold, Frederick William Trabold, IV, Henry Pottinger Trabold, Drew Sterling Dill, Jr., Talbott Kirkconnell Dill, Draper Fielding Dill, Brooke Elizabeth Fallon, & Michael Jack Fallon.

Funeral service will be held, Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10 a.m., The Cathedral Church of St. Luke, 130 N Magnolia Ave., Orlando.

A Celebration of Life will be held later that day at The Rosalind Club, 11 N Rosalind Ave, Orlando from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
