A Chinese restaurant in Orlando was forced to temporarily shut down after the business was cited for nearly 30 health code violations, including the presence of rodent droppings.

Peter’s Kitchen China Bistro, which is located at 3922 E Colonial Drive in Orlando, was forced to temporarily close its doors on Thursday, May 23, after failing a health inspection that was conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

According to the report, the restaurant was cited for 29 code violations, including four considered high priority. Among the high priority violations was the presence of rodent activity, as evidenced by 15 rodent droppings that were found on the side of the ice machine.

The health inspector also noted that a hole in the ceiling near the dish washing machine had “rodent rub marks” leading to the dish rack over the machine.

Other violations cited in the report include: storing raw chicken over pork in the walk-in-cooler; holding ready-to-eat food items that were prepared onsite for more than 24 hours without properly marking the date; employees storing drink cups and personal drink bottles on a food preparation table; and a pipe leaking water under a sink.

Peter’s Kitchen China Bistro was reinspected on Friday, May 24, and the restaurant was permitted to reopen after it was cited for 22 remaining violations.
