Winning $1 million scratch-off ticket sold at Orlando Walmart

A man has claimed a $1 million prize from a Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket he purchased at a Walmart in Orlando.

The Florida Lottery announced on Friday, August 30, that Winter Park resident Preston Legge visited the Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee and claimed a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR scratch-off game.

Legge chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Walmart located at 902 Lee Road in Orlando. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

The Florida Lottery’s $50 scratch-off game, $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR, features more than $1.6 billion in cash prizes, including two top prizes of $1 million a year for life and 234 prizes of $1 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50, according to lottery officials.
