Two men have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a June shooting at an Orlando intersection that killed a 19-year-old man and wounded a woman.
On Saturday, September 7, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrests of two 22-year-old suspects in this case: Amarion Rashaun Hammons and Jabez Actie.
According to OCSO, the fatal shooting occurred at around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at the intersection of Pershing Avenue and Redditt Road.
When deputies arrived at the scene of the shooting, they observed two victims, a 19-year-old man and a woman in her 20s, who had sustained gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where the man was pronounced deceased.
The male victim was later identified by law enforcement as 19-year-old Angel Issak Martinez.
The unidentified female victim’s injuries were described by the sheriff’s office as being “non-life-threatening.”
OCSO launched an investigation into the fatal shooting. On Wednesday, July 31, the sheriff’s office released video footage showing a vehicle of interest traveling near the intersection of Pershing Avenue and Redditt Road at the time of the shooting.
On the footage, a passenger in the vehicle can be seen holding a gun while hanging out of the window. The footage then shows the passenger firing several shots, which allegedly struck and killed Angel Issak Martinez.
No further details were provided by OCSO regarding the shooting or what led detectives to identifying Hammons and Actie as suspects.
Hammons and Actie are both being held without bond at Orange County Jail. They are facing the following charges: first-degree murder with a firearm, attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, and shooting into an occupied vehicle, along with an additional charge for trafficking in fentanyl.
Court records show that Hammons and Actie are being represented by the Office of the Public Defender.
