The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run crash in Orange County that seriously injured a 16-year-old girl on Tuesday morning.
The accident took place at around 6:35 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, near the intersection of Guy Road and Bearle Road in Orlando.
According to a preliminary report from FHP, an unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on Guy Road, south of the Bearle Road intersection. At the same time, a 16-year-old Orlando girl was riding a scooter, and she was heading northbound on the right shoulder along Guy Road.
FHP stated that the vehicle’s driver failed to observe the teen on the scooter. As a result, the vehicle rear-ended the scooter before fleeing from the scene of the crash.
The teen was transported to AdventHealth Waterford Lakes ER in Orlando for treatment of serious injuries.
Shortly after 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, FHP stated in a media release that the crash remains under investigation. No further details were provided regarding the vehicle or driver involved in the hit-and-run crash.
