A 24-year-old Eustis man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a shooting on Colonial Drive in Orlando that left one man dead.
On Tuesday, October 22, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office announced that Tevin Jeremiah Webber, 24, was arrested for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of 23-year-old Marcus Ladunn Thomas, Jr.
The fatal shooting occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on Friday, October 18, in the 6100 block of West Colonial Drive.
According to OCSO, deputies responded to the incident location at around 8:20 p.m. and located a male victim, identified as Thomas, who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
In a media release on Friday night, the sheriff’s office advised that an investigation into the fatal shooting was “active and ongoing.”
At 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, OCSO stated in an update that a murder suspect, Webber, is being held without bond at Orange County Jail on the following charges: first-degree murder with a firearm and resisting an officer without violence.
No further details were provided by law enforcement regarding the homicide investigation or what led detectives to identifying Webber as a suspect in this case.
Orange County Jail records show that Webber was booked into the facility on Saturday, October 19.
