A Kissimmee man recently won a $1 million prize from a Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket he purchased at a convenience store in Central Florida.
On Wednesday, October 23, the Florida Lottery announced that Larry Hamilton, 46, stopped by the Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee to claim a $1 million prize from the 500X THE CASH scratch-off game.
While at the headquarters, Hamilton chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.
The winning scratch-off ticket was purchased from KK Food Mart located at 4275 New Tampa Highway in Lakeland. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket.
The 500X THE CASH scratch-off game costs $50 and features over 1.6 billion in total cash prizes, including a top prize of $25 million. The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.23, according to lottery officials.
In recent weeks, several high-value prizes have been claimed from scratch-off tickets purchased in Orlando:
- An Orlando resident took home over $600,000 thanks to a 500X THE CASH scratch-off game that was purchased at a local Publix.
- Another Orlando resident claimed a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR scratch-off game.
- Two GOLD RUSH LIMITED scratch-off tickets, which were purchased at a Circle K and Wawa in Orlando, won a $1 million prize.
