Ronald Jay Lustig died peacefully in his sleep on October 17, 2024 in Orlando, Florida at the age of 75.

Ronald was son of Elaine and Seymour Lustig. He is survived by his sister Riedy Lustig Gimpelson (Steve) and niece Jaime Gimpelson Ackerman (Brett), and nephew David Gimpelson (Ana) and great nephews Case, Ben, Axel and Mateo and his side companion Teddy the Maltese.

Ron was raised in College Park, Florida and went to Edgewater High School and graduated from Wilkes College in Pennsylvania. Post college he opened Grass Roots, an establishment that began a new generation of retail in Winter Park’s Park Avenue.

After retiring from his family’s successful produce brokerage firm, he returned to Park Avenue opening Acquisitions which was a touchstone for interior designers as well as the public. It was also known locally as “the Store with the sheepdog at the door,” as his dog Maggie became the street mascot. He then worked at the Orlando Convention Center as a Procurement Manager.

Ron was a kind, caring and incredibly bright man who had an amazing love for animals and the city of Orlando.
