Alicia Stella Gotlewski, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, surrounded by family and love. She was born on September 24, 1940, in Tunja, Colombia, to Luis Rafael Diaz and Epimenia Hernandez-Diaz. Alicia moved to the United States, where she married the love of her life, Eugene Edward Gotlewski, on April 6, 1974, in New York. Together, they shared a lifetime of cherished memories and a devotion that lasted 50 years.
Alicia is survived by her beloved husband, Eugene; her brother Alfonso Diaz and sister Leonor Diaz; her son Michael Gotlewski and wife Courtney; her daughter Jennifer Gotlewski and partner Robert Cieswick. She was a proud and loving grandmother to her grandchildren: Ayden Persson, Tattiana Gotlewski, Angelina Gotlewski, Michael Gotlewski Jr., Alvin Gotlewski, Mikayla Gotlewski, and Phoenix Prophete, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She is also remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, who she loved dearly and who will forever hold her memory close.
Alicia’s kindness, strength, and grace touched the lives of all who knew her, and her warmth and compassion will be dearly missed. Her legacy of love, laughter, and resilience lives on in her family and friends.
