It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Donald Partain Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished friend.

Don was born on August 2, 1934, in Sanford, Florida, and passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on January 11, 2025, in Sanford, Florida.

His journey began in Sanford, where he was born and raised, attending all Sanford schools. In 1953, Don joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country on the USS New Jersey BB-62. He was enlisted in the Sixth Naval District in Charleston and participated in the Korean Service, United Nations Service, National Defense, and received the Good Conduct Medal. His service to his nation was a testament to his unwavering commitment and sense of duty.

After his military career, Don embarked on a professional journey with Florida Power and
Light Company as a cable splicer for 35 years, where he worked diligently until his
retirement.

Don married the love of his life, Jacqueline Ervin, on August 1, 1955. Their union was one of
profound love and unwavering commitment, lasting for 55 beautiful years until Jackie’s
passing in 2010. She was his whole world, and their love story remains an inspiration to all
who knew them.

Don was a man of faith and an active member of Grace Fellowship Congregational Church
of Sanford, Florida, for over 50 years. He was also a member of the CFRH Auxiliary and H2U CFRH, and a beloved regular at The Breakers in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

He is survived by his loving son, Charles Partain Jr., and his daughter-in-law, Doreen
Partain. He leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren, Charles Partain III and his
wife, Marguerite Partain, Brittany Sigler and her husband, Gregory Sigler, and his
great-grandchildren, Reagan Partain and Charles Partain IV.

Don’s life was a testament to a good man marked by love, hard work, and dedication. He
will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye, we
take solace in the memories we shared and the lasting impact he had on our lives.
May he rest in peace, reunited with his beloved Jackie.

A graveside service will be held on January 25, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, located at 1975 W. 25th St. in Sanford.
