A New York murder suspect was captured at a McDonalds in Volusia County on Wednesday, ending a statewide manhunt.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, 50-year-old Scott C. Mitchell was arrested on Wednesday, February 12, at the McDonalds located near the intersection of Tamoka Farms Road and W International Speedway Boulevard in Daytona Beach.

Mitchell is the main suspect in the murders of Daniel McCloe and Marshall VanOven, which occurred in Binghamton, New York, on Monday, February 3.

VCSO stated that the person who called in the tip, which led to Mitchell’s arrest, has received a $10,000 cash reward.

During the manhunt for Mitchell, law enforcement found his truck in West DeLand. He was reportedly spotted walking along Hontoon Road, in the DeLand area, in the morning hours on Tuesday February 11.

Following his arrest, Mitchell remains in custody in Daytona Beach, according to VCSO.

No further details were released by the sheriff’s office.
