A 36-year-old man recently claimed a $1 million prize from a $50 scratch-off game that he purchased in Central Florida.

On Wednesday, February 26, the Florida Lottery announced that Cocoa resident Raul Llama stopped by its headquarters in Tallahassee to claim the $1 million prize from the 500x THE CASH scratch-off game.

Llama elected to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Circle K located at 4775-1 Fay Boulevard in Cocoa. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning scratch-off ticket.

The 500X THE CASH scratch-off game costs $50 and features a top prize of $25 million, which is the largest prize offered on a Florida Lottery scratch-off game. With more than $1.66 billion in cash prizes, including the $1 million prize won by Llama, the game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.23, according to lottery officials.

Earlier this week, the Florida Lottery stated that an Orlando man recently purchased a lucky scratch-off ticket at a local 7-Eleven, turning $5 into $1 million.
