A 42-year-old Kissimmee man died early Friday morning after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while attempting to cross a roadway in Osceola County.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the hit-and-run collision occurred at around 1:20 a.m. on Friday, April 25, at the intersection of Buenaventura Boulevard and Osceola Parkway.
An unknown vehicle was traveling northbound on Buenaventura Boulevard, north of the Osceola Parkway intersection, in the inside lane.
At the same time, the Kissimmee man was walking westbound while attempting to cross Buenaventura Boulevard when he entered the inside lane. He then stepped in front of the unknown vehicle and was struck by its front section.
After the collision, the unknown vehicle continued heading northbound on Buenaventura Boulevard, fleeing the area.
The Kissimmee man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name was not released by FHP.
In the report, a Trooper stated that the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash is “possibly a white Acura MDX SUV and should have front end damage.”
The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
