Two people were killed early Friday morning after their Lamborghini Huracan rear-ended a Ford F-550 truck on State Road 528 in Orange County.
The fatal crash occurred on SR 528 at around 2:15 a.m. on Friday, September 26, near Orangewood Boulevard (mile marker 2), according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
An FHP trooper mentioned in the report that the Ford was traveling ahead of the Lamborghini in the center outside lane as both vehicles headed eastbound on SR 528.
The Lamborghini was reportedly traveling above the posted speed limit when its driver failed to stop for the Ford that was ahead in the same lane. As a result, the front of the Lamborghini struck the rear of the Ford.
Both of the Lamborghini’s occupants, a 41-year-old Kissimmee man (driver) and 41-year-old Windermere man (passenger), were transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
The sole occupant of the Ford, a 58-year-old Altamonte Springs man, was not hurt and remained on-scene.
The crash remains under investigation, according to FHP.
