Less than a week after a local married couple was found dead inside their home, DeLand police have ruled the deaths a murder-suicide.

According to the DeLand Police Department, an “extensive investigation” was conducted into the deaths of 49-year-old Scott Waldron and 47-year-old Padmini Waldron after their bodies were found on Sunday, November 1, inside a residence located on Cape Cod Road in DeLand.

DPD detectives ultimately determined that Scott Waldron “shot and killed his wife,” Padmini Waldron, before taking his own life.

The Waldrons had been married for 12 years. Scott Waldron was a probation officer, and he allegedly “used his duty weapon in the commission of this incident,” according to DeLand police.

Next of kin have been notified.

No further details regarding the incident were provided by law enforcement.
