Barry Manilow is heading to the Kia Center in two weeks for his final Orlando show, and tickets are still available.
Originally scheduled to take place at the Kia Center (400 W Church Street in downtown Orlando) on Wednesday, January 7, the concert was moved to Friday, March 13, after Manilow was diagnosed with lung cancer.
“As many of you know I recently went through six weeks of bronchitis followed by a relapse of another five weeks,” said Manilow in a statement in December. ” Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everything was OK.”
Manilow further stated that the MRI revealed a stage-one cancerous tumor had been discovered on his left lung. “It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That’s the good news.”
The singer successfully underwent surgery to remove the tumor, and his doctors prescribed a month of recovery before returning to the stage.
“No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns,” said Manilow.
On Friday, March 13, Manilow’s concert at the Kia Center is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening an hour early.
The Kia Center states that all tickets that were previously purchased for Manilow’s concert on January 7 are valid and will be honored for the rescheduled event on March 13.
An American singer, songwriter, and producer, Manilow is best known for a string of pop hits released in the 1970s and ‘80s, including “Mandy,” “Copacabana,” and “Can’t Smile Without You.”
Over the course of Manilow’s career, which has spanned over five decades, the singer has sold more than 85 million albums worldwide and earned numerous awards.
At the age of 82, Manilow is still entertaining fans with his theatrical style and timeless ballads.
Tickets for Manilow’s final Orlando concert are on sale, starting at around $38.
