The Daytona Beach Police Department is actively investigating four separate shooting incidents that occurred on Saturday, March 14.

First shooting (Case Number: DB260003905)

At around 12:36 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, DBPD officers responded to The Joint located at 308 Seabreeze Boulevard in reference to shots being fired, according to police.

Witnesses told officers that a man inside the establishment “became aggressive,” which prompted several women to “deploy mace.” During this incident, the man allegedly discharged a firearm, and the gunshot caused numerous patrons to flee from the building in a panic.

“Fortunately, no individuals were struck by gunfire,” said DBPD.

However, several individuals sustained minor injuries while exiting the building in the moments following the shooting.

“At this time, investigators do not believe the incident involved residents and instead believe those involved were visiting the city,” stated Daytona Beach police in a media release.

No further details were provided.

Minutes later, at around 12:44 a.m., DBPD officers were on patrol in the 240 block of N Nova Road when they observed a parking lot filled with vehicles. While in the area, several individuals flagged down the officers and reported that an individual had been shot, according to police.

Officers quickly located the victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. They rendered aid until paramedics arrived on scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital.

In an update, DBPD stated that the victim is currently in stable condition.

According to police, a preliminary investigation suggests that the unidentified shooter is “not local to the area.” In addition, detectives have learned that the victim is from out of town.
