Clermont police are searching for a man who reportedly entered the jewelry section of a local JCPenney and stole an item valued at over $8,700.
On Sunday, March 15, a male suspect entered the JCPenney located at 2345 S U.S. Highway 27 in Clermont during regular business hours, according to the Clermont Police Department.
CPD stated that the suspect then headed to the store’s jewelry section and requested to view a chain that was valued at approximately $8,750.
When an employee placed the chain on the glass casing, the suspect allegedly grabbed the piece of jewelry before running out of the store with the unpaid merchandise.
