Orlando police have arrested a 43-year-old man on a first-degree murder charge in connection with an Easter shooting in Orlando that left another man dead.

On Sunday, April 5, shortly after 10:35 p.m., Orlando Police Department officers responded to the 1000 block of Bethune Drive in Orlando after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as 35-year-old Edwin Collazo, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

OPD stated that an ensuing investigation revealed that a man, identified as Dancing Days Pacheco Santana, had gotten into an argument with Collazo. The verbal altercation reportedly turned physical, and Pacheco Santana allegedly shot Collazo before fleeing from the area.

On Tuesday, April 7, Pacheco Santana was taken into custody on unrelated charges. After being identified as the suspect in this case, Pacheco Santana was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

“This remains an active ongoing investigation,” said OPD in a social media post. “No additional information is available at this time in order to protect the integrity of the case.”
