A Delta Air Lines employee died while working at Orlando International Airport (MCO) on Thursday.

Delta paused operations at MCO on Thursday, May 7, while authorities launched an investigation into the worker’s death. As a result, one flight was canceled that evening.

In a statement, Delta stated that the airline is “focused on extending our full support to the family and taking care of our Orlando team during this difficult time.”

Delta added that it is working with local authorities as a full investigation is conducted to determine the events leading to the employee’s death.

MCO stated, “[Our] community is deeply saddened about the loss of a team member from one of our airline partners, a member of our extended airport family. We send our condolences to his family and friends.”

The Orlando Police Department is leading the investigation into the Delta employee’s death, stating that preliminary information suggests the incident was an accident.
