Kyle Laverty, 54, passed away on May 21, 2026, leaving a trail of kindness, creativity, and quiet brilliance that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Born on February 17, 1972, Kyle had what friends fondly called a “mechanic brain” — a natural gift for fixing what was broken, understanding how things worked, and making them work better. Whether it was an engine that wouldn’t turn over or a neighbor’s lawnmower, Kyle showed up with his toolbox, his steady hands, and his patient smile.
Kyle was also an artist at heart. He painted in oil and watercolor, finding calm in color and joy in the process. He loved Bob Ross — not just the paintings, but the spirit of making “happy little trees,” of turning mistakes into beauty. His canvases often reflected that spirit: gentle skies, warm landscapes, and quiet places where peace felt close.
He loved dogs — every dog, really — and they loved him right back. If there was a wagging tail at a gathering, it usually found its way to Kyle. He carried treats in his pocket like other people carry loose change.
Service to others was second nature to him. At Starlight Ranch and throughout the community, Kyle was the person who helped residents without being asked, who remembered names and stories, who noticed when someone could use a hand. He made people feel seen. He made them feel safe.
Family meant everything to Kyle. He was devoted to his mom and dad — loved and adored them — and he cherished every moment with his family. Holidays, weekend meals, quick phone calls, shared jokes: these were his treasures. He measured a good life not by what he owned, but by who he loved and how well he loved them.
Kyle’s legacy is one of gentle strength, quiet generosity, and everyday artistry. He taught us that care is a craft, that community is built one kind act at a time, and that beauty can be found in both the hum of an engine and the sweep of a brush.
He is survived by his loving family, mother: Joan Laverty, sisters: Kelly (Barbara) Laverty-Lynch, Dawn (Allan) Hebel. Nieces and Nephews: Kevin Hebel and Allana (Pat) Owens. Great niece: Keira Hebel; Aunt and Godmother, Denise Adams; cousins, Erin and Jennifer; Dogs: Bella Rose, Giusseppe and Savannah. Ex-wife: Diane Alfarone. A wide circle of friends and neighbors who will carry his memory forward in the work of their hands and the kindness of their hearts.
A celebration of Kyle’s life will be held at Good Life Funeral Home, 8408 E. Colonial Drive Orlando FL 32817 on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Viewing From 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service at 6:00 pm. by Pastor James Irvine.
