prison or jail in penitentiary with bars and open door.

A 26-year-old Ocoee man, who stored thousands of files depicting the sexual abuse of children on his electronic devices, has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison.

On Monday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida announced that Chase Dean Suriano will spend a dozen years behind bars for the receipt of child sexual abuse material.

Suriano previously pleaded guilty to the federal charge in March 2026.

According to court records, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) launched a probe into Suriano after a witness reported seeing child sexual abuse material saved on Suriano’s computer while he was screensharing with the witness.

The FBI subsequently executed a search warrant at Suriano’s residence, resulting in the seizure of numerous electronic devices. A forensic review determined that Suriano used a web browser to “search for, download, and collect child sexual abuse material.”

In total, investigators found more than 7,500 images and over 900 videos depicting the sexual abuse of children on Suriano’s devices. Authorities noted that a “significant amount” of the material involved infants and toddlers.

At the time of the federal investigation, Suriano was the subject of a stipulated 10-year final injunction for protection against sexual violence. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, that injunction stemmed from reports that Suriano had sexually abused a 7-year-old child when he was 18 years old.

As part of his sentencing, the court ordered Suriano to forfeit a computer and multiple drives that were used during the commission of the federal offense.

This case was investigated by the FBI and brought forward as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse.
