A 21-year-old man was arrested by Sanford police after he allegedly exposed himself and touched his genitals inside a local Walmart.

On Wednesday, June 24, Sanford Police Department officers responded to the Walmart located at 3653 S Orlando Drive in reference to a man who was “making female customers feel uncomfortable,” according to the agency.

Walmart loss prevention associates reportedly tracked down a man, later identified as Tyrese Tyrell Jackson, in the men’s clothing aisle.

Sanford police stated that Jackson “had his genitals out,” and he was allegedly “touching himself” when the loss prevention associates located him. Law enforcement was contacted, but Jackson reportedly left the store prior to officers arriving on scene.

A few hours after the incident, Jackson returned to the store and was met by Sanford police officers. He was placed under arrest and transported to Seminole County Jail, where he remains in custody without bond.

Jackson is being charged with indecent exposure of sexual organs.

“We are thankful for the quick response by Walmart staff and our officers,” said the Sanford Police Department in a social media post. “Everyone deserves to feel safe and comfortable while shopping and should not be subjected to inappropriate behavior.”
