A 45-year-old Kissimmee man died late Friday night after his motorcycle rear-ended an SUV on U.S. 192 in Osceola County.

The fatal collision occurred at around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) and Vacanza Boulevard, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP stated that the motorcyclist was riding a Harley Davidson eastbound on U.S. 192, in the inside lane, when he approached the Vacanza Boulevard intersection. A Mazda CX-50 was also traveling in the same lane ahead of the motorcycle.

According to the report, the Harley Davidson’s rider failed to observe the Mazda ahead of him, and the front of the motorcycle crashed into the rear right corner of the SUV.

The motorcyclist was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. An FHP trooper noted in the report that it is currently unknown whether the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Mazda had four occupants at the time of the accident: a 46-year-old man (driver), 46-year-old woman (passenger), 21-year-old woman (passenger), and 17-year-old boy (passenger), all from Puerto Rico. They were not hurt in the collision.
