77-year-old killed in accident on University Blvd

A 77-year-old woman was killed after her vehicle was struck by another vehicle turning onto University Boulevard.

The fatal accident took place on Sunday, July 2, at around 4:54 p.m. in Orange County.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu southbound on N Mira Boulevard, approaching the intersection of University Boulevard.

The woman attempted to make a left turn to travel eastbound on University Boulevard when her vehicle entered the direct path of a 2023 Subaru WRX being driven by a 19-year-old Orlando man.

As a result, the front of the Subaru struck the left side of the Malibu.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The man was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
