Oviedo woman embezzled nearly $600,000 from HOA

A 47-year-old woman is being accused of embezzling nearly $600,000 from a local home owners’ association that she was in charge of managing for seven months.

Tammi Morrison was arrested on June 27 by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputies on an active warrant charging her with grand theft of more than $100,000.

According to an affidavit filed by the Winter Spring’s Police Department, Morrison was the owner of Morrison Management LLC. She was hired in September 2021 to manage the home owners’ associations for Mt. Greenwood and The Vineyards at Mt. Greenwood in Winter Springs.

In her position, Morrison had sole financial access to over $800,000 that was collected by the HOAs. Morrison had no supervision or direct superiors, and had sole access to the funds through checks, money transfers, and debit cards, according to authorities.

During her tenure, which ended in April 2022, Morrison spent approximately $593,452.28 of the funds from the HOA accounts on items related to her personal life and business.

According to authorities, Morrison used the funds to pay for rent, vehicle repairs, credit card purchases, and to give to family.

Morrison, who turned 47 in June, was released from jail after posting bond on June 27. She is scheduled for arraignment on August 8, 2023, according to Seminole County court records.
