Man stole $600 of groceries in self-checkout line at Walmart

The Sanford Police Department is asking the public for help to identify a man who is wanted for allegedly stealing over $600 worth of groceries after he attempted to pay in the self-checkout lane with a credit card that was declined multiple times.

The man featured in this story was seen entering the Walmart located at 1601 Rinehart Road in Sanford on October 29, 2023.

During his visit, the man allegedly went to the self-checkout lane with two carts of merchandise that totaled $665.31.

After he scanned everything, he attempted to pay with a credit card that was declined. The man attempted to pay with the credit card twice more, but it was declined both times.

After the card was declined a total of three times, the man left the store with both carts of merchandise without paying.
