Ashanty Deloise Charlene Columbus

Ashanty Columbus entered this world on May 29, 1998, the cherished daughter of Christina Singleton Columbus and Michael Columbus in Orlando, FL. On November 16, 2023, she peacefully and faithfully fell asleep in death.

A passionate traveler and versatile individual, Ashanty embarked on her journey after graduating from Wekiva High School in May 2016. She relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to pursue her culinary aspirations. In early 2017, she returned to Florida, furthering her education in event coordination and establishing Swoon Box, her company focused on handcrafted gift boxes and baskets.

Ashanty, a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, was baptized on February 27, 2016, dedicating her life to serving alongside her family. In addition to the love she displayed to her family and congregation, Ashanty married her cherished husband, Jared Waldrop, on January 15, 2022.

Though their time together was short-lived, Ashanty loved and supported Jared from her heart. Radiating warmth and positivity, Ashanty was the beacon in any room. Her culinary delights, especially the red velvet cookies and coconut cream pies, became synonymous with gatherings. Her melodic voice left an enduring mark on those fortunate enough to hear her sing. She will be remembered for her enduring love, infectious laughter, selflessness, and unparalleled creativity.

Ashanty is survived by her parents, Christina Singleton Columbus and Michael Columbus, her brothers Marion Columbus (Kianna Columbus), James Columbus, and Deandre Columbus, her nephew, Kenai Columbus, and her grandparents Charlene Columbus, Gil Columbus, and Paulette Singleton. Additionally, she leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones. Ashanty’s presence brought joy to all she encountered, leaving an unforgettable mark on the lives of those she held dear.

Her absence will be deeply felt, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
