$90,000 of Cuban link chains stolen from Sanford jewelry store

Sanford police are trying to identify and locate an individual accused of stealing $90,000 worth of gold Cuban link chains from a local jewelry store.

According to the Sanford Police Department, the man featured in this story was seen entering the Gold King Fine Jewelers located at 272 Towne Center Circle on February 4.

The man asked the owner of the business to show him a Cuban link gold chain inside of one of the secured jewelry cases as the business.

As the owner was removing the tray with the jewelry, the man allegedly grabbed the tray and fled the store.

The man left the scene in a black Ford Mustang, according to authorities.

The jewelry that was stolen had a value of approximately $90,000.
